This New Primetime Drama Serial 天堂鸟 - Live Again is a tearjacker as well as a heartwarming Drama Serial which tells the story of how a talented and promising young song-writer Ah Du - Du Xiangyi ( played by Shaun Chen ) begins to learn to live a brand new life as he suffers from ammensia .

I must say that Channel 8 Drama Serial at it's 9pm Primetime slot is indeed improving . Already we have seen what great Dramas it had produced from ' Like Father , Like Daughter ' onwards , to ' Metamorphosis ' and now ' Live Again ' . This is a truly touching story and u really have to watch from the very beginning to understand the flow of the story as u follow the life of Ah Du ... From how he used to be a great song-writer of many popular songs to how his life took a dramatic change when he lost his memory .
After he lost his memory , he was reduced to such a sorry state that few would believe his real identity ( if they had known ) as he cut a forlorn figure and was in such a sorry and pitiful state . He could not remember who he actually is , where he lived , whether he has any kins or family members ... All he could do was to keep following Zhang Bo all day ( played by Cheng Zhucheng ) - an old man who earns his keeps by selling second hand items which he has collected .
Not only was Ah Du homeless , he was very dirty and looked like a real dumb idiot and as a result , many people taught he was a crazy person who has an unsound mind as he could not speak properly in proper sentences . He kept stuttering whenever he spoke . Initally , his ability is that of a 3 years old kid . At first , Zhang Bo was very reluctant to have him by his side every day whereever he goes as he felt uneasy . He kept having the impression that Ah Du was sent to watch and spy on him by his three ungrateful sons who are always after his fortune and most importantly, the diamond gem - Star of South Africa ( translated as ' nan fei zi xing ' ) .
One of his sons even went to Ah Du to ask him to help him steal the diamond from Zhang Bo . Then one day , he even went to the extent of going to Zhang Bo's house to look for Ah Du and beat him up when they could not find the precious diamond on him . Then on Zhang Bo's bithday , he even humilated and insulted Ah Du in front of so many people by throwing and slapping him on his face with money . Siru ( Phyills Quek ) could not stand the sight of him being bullied and stood up for him .
Then as days passed , his condition deteriorated as he began to suffer fits almost every night . He would lose control of himself and sometimes when his fits acts up , he would throw things around and disturb the sleeping peace of his neighbours .
Slowly but surely , Zhang Bo initial cold attitude towards Ah Du began to change for the better as he discovered Ah Du really meant no harm . Zhang Bo saw the good points of him as he was diligent and was really of a great help to him as he proved to be more than a capable assistant . ( Once he even helped Zhang Bo to stop a person from stealing his radio without paying for the item as he walked away .) He took him to see a doctor to try to have his condition cured as well as took him in . Zhang Bo gave him food and asked Siru to buy him new clothes for him .
