EPL Top 3 In Evening Primetime Blockbuster Showdown Tonight !

15 Sept 2007

After a week of International break to Euro 2008 Qualifiers and International Friendly games , the EPL returns with a massive bang tonight as three high profile big games involving the League Big Four will all be played almost at the same time one after another in an early lunchtime kick-off for the first time since the new League Season begin !

Everton vs Man United @ 7pm LIVE on Super Sports Channel 22
Tonight , EPL soccer fans will be treated with three great evening Primetime LIVE EPL matches starting from 7pm onwards on three different Channels as the top three teams all play their matches close to one another . At 7pm , third placed Everton host defending League Champions Man United at Goodison Park which will see Rooney return from injury and Christiano Ronaldo making the trip too after his comeback from his three match suspension .

Portsmouth vs Liverpool @ 7.45pm LIVE on Football Channel 27
Then when the match at Goodison reaches halftime , Portsmouth will take on current league leaders Liverpool in a pulsating and closely fought match with both teams determined to get three full points . Pompey will be hoping to have a good performance tonight , after a terribly disappointing performance against the Gunners in their last EPL fixture before the International break losing 3-1 with David James conceding that early penalty which was no doubt a crucial contributing factor to an Arsenal victory .

Or they will be hoping that at least they can repeat that famous victory over the Reds earlier this year in their Barclays Asia Throphy Tournament in Hongkong where they held Rafa Benitez side to a goalless draw in normal time before going on to win on penalty shootout to claim the Throphy .

Tottenham vs Arsenal @ 8.30pm on Super Sports Channel 21
Then when the Portsmouth - Liverpool match goes to Halftime , the most awaited London Derby will take place at White Hart Lane as Spurs will be hoping to win and turn the corner against their London bitter rivals Arsenal in the 141th London Derby showdown tonight . Arsenal despite with such a young squad , has been impressive so far , unbeaten after 4 League games and sitting pretty in second spot level on points with leaders Liverpool . Spurs on the other hand has been far from convincing and has been trying very hard to impress but still with not much success . Martin Jol has not much to smile or be happy about in their team's recent League matches , except that ruthless 4-0 victory over Derby earlier this year , their only time they could really celebrate and rejoice . Martin Jol is now under tremendous pressure , very much like how Steve McClaren was when England headed for their Euro Qualifiers earlier this week .

But will Jol be able to do a Steve McClaren tonight or better still in fantastic style , winning against their bitter London rivals ? Doing so will no doubt mean a lot to Spurs fans , not only the mere victory over their fiercest rivals but also at the same time ending Arsenal wonderful unbeaten start to the Season so far . Victory tonight will surely go some way to lift some pressure off Jol's shoulders and may see the team start to turn the corner , very much like The Three Lions did . Failure may just see Jol managerial career come to an end .

The Champions League Factor ...
Although the favourites Man United , Arsenal & Liverpool are all expected to avoid defeat with these tough fixtures , one has to bear in mind that they still have Champions League coming up next week . Normally this would mean some teams will fail unexpectedly as they try to rest some players for the big games ahead , considering that these players just returned from International duty and had not much to rest and now have to contest in a early lunch time kick-off .

Upset on The Cards ... But Which One ?
Who will cause an upset tonight and sneak a famous victory ? ... How will the Top 3 shape up tonight in terms of League standings considering that all play almost all at the same time... Oh ... I just can't wait for the drama and excitement to begin tonight .... Can u ?
