Although Mediacorp Channel 8 MEGA Blockbuster Drama Serial - < 小娘惹 > ' The Little Nyonya ' has already ended it's run long ago , and the viewers are now eagerly looking forward & waiting in anticipation to yet another End Of Year Blockbuster Drama Serial this year to be starred by Jeanette Aw & Dai Yang Tian yet again , the fever of ' The Little Nyonya ' - < 小娘惹 > is still very much alive till today ! The very fact that ' The Little Nyonya ' is still very much well liked by our local audiences here & remains as popular as when it was shown on TV then is clearly very evident from the massive turnout at ' The Little Nyonya ' - < 小娘惹 > Roadshow Event held last Saturday at Bishan MRT Station !
If there were any fears that the popularity of ' The Little Nyonya ' - < 小娘惹 > would be on the decline slowly after the Serial had ended it's run on TV earlier this year back in January , the local TV Viewers certainly did not show it ! A massive crowd has already gathered at the foot ( Basement 2 Level ) of the Bishan MRT Station as early as 10am in the morning , though the Roadshow Event was due to start one hour later . The large crowd seen gathering were not there to have an experience of having a ride at the newly launched Circle Line themselves , but were there awaiting the arrival of their favourite Idols & Mediacorp Artistes from the hit TV Blockbuster Drama Serial - ' The Little Nyonya ' < 小娘惹 > !
A small stage has been set up in the middle of Basement 2 Bishan MRT Station to celebrate the success of it's official launch of the five new Circle Line Stations which are currently in operations . And as such , SMRT has specially organised a 2 Day Mini Roadshow Celebration Party to promote as well as to Thank all the commuters & passengers for their continuous support towards their services all this while !
To officially kickstart their two days Roadshow Celebration Party with a real big bang , the Main Casts of ' The Little Nyonya ' < 小娘惹 > duly made their appearances at 11am , much to the loud cheers and applause of the eagerly awaiting fans & supporters , as Jeanette Aw , Dai Yang Tian , Xiang Yun & Pierre Png made their way up the stage . The Main Casts were all dressed in their character costumes , much to the delight & surprises of the fans ! They first gave a brief introduction of themselves , followed by a short interview Session with the host .
During the Interview , the hosts asked the four Main Casts questions in relation to their filming of the Serial such as the traditions of the Peranakan culture & the types of foods they ate during their filming of the Series which evolved many memories of not only the Main Casts on stage , but also the many audiences present too ! Then , during the Interview , Pierre Png made a rather ' shocked ' & ' surprise ' revelation that first , his father was actually also present to see his son perform on stage and as well as he & his family was a true blue Peranakan !
With that ' confession ' , the host was not about to ' let him off ' that easily and asked him to say a few words in Peranakan and as well as to make him dance with a few audiences on stage with a Peranakan music & song played in the background . Both Pierre Png & the audiences enjoyed themselves in the Dance Segment . The Dance Segment very entertaining and it also drew much amusement & laughter from the audiences .
Then , there was a ' Nyonya ' Fashion Show where the four Main Casts were asked to pick four ladies to come up on stage to join in the fun for this Mini ' Nyonya Fashion Show ' . The four ladies picked from the audiences had to put on a sarong tied to their waist and walked on stage with the Stars .
While the ladies were putting on the sarong , Jeanette Aw & Xiang Yun explained to the audiences that there were actually some rules & steps which they must & have to take note of and follow when wearing the sarong as the way the sarong is being worn has it's own unique meaning & significance . It is also part of the Peranakan culture & ettitque too .
When the four audiences were done putting on the sarong , Dai Yang Tian gamely volunteered to walk on stage with the audiences for the Fashion Show Segment , much to the loud cheers & laughters from the audiences .
Next was a Mini ' Prize Presentation Ceremony ' where the four ladies from the Fashion Show Segment & the Dance Segment with Pierre Png earlier , each won themselves a SMRT Poster with the four Main Casts of ' The Little Nyonya ' on it as a token of participation for the Event . Twenty lucky winners from a Mini Quiz in which they took part before the commencement of the Roadshow Event also each won themselves the same SMRT Poster with the four Main Casts on it .
Then Jeanette Aw , Dai Yang Tian , Xiang Yun & Pierre Png each took turns to pen their signatures on the SMRT Poster behind them on the stage and this was followed by a Cake Presentation Ceremony . The cake was made by the bakers of BreadTalk , specially for this occasion . The four Main Casts then took Photos with the SMRT Staff .
With that , this officially concludes ' The Little Nyonya ' Roadshow Event and the four Main Casts then thanked the audiences for their time & support and wished everyone an enjoyable Weekend !
