Never have we witnessed a Singing competition being so intensely fought with such a high standard level of competition & a performance which all the 20 Contestants had put up was so engaging , exciting & thrilling that even had one of the famous Judges - 许环良 saying that the < 超級星光大道 5 新加坡 PK 賽 > Standard of competition was much higher than that of those talent search competitions in mainland China , when he was asked about his take on the PK Competition that unfolded at Kallang Leisure Park yesterday , just before the Judges were to announce the lucky Three who had successfully won the Ticket to Taiwan after a gruelling 4 Hours of Competition !
It was really a star studded affair both on & off the Stage too ! On it , all eyes were transfixed on the performance of the 7 Superstars to see how they would fare & how many of those will emerge as the Lucky Three to make it to Taiwan for the competition proper ! Off it though , there were familiar faces both in the Judges Panel as well as in the VIP Audience seating area in front of the Stage , behind where the Judges were seated as some very familiar & popular faces were there to support ' their very own Idols ' too !
Among the panel of Judges were some really popular & familiar faces too : Project Superstar Judge - 许环良 , Chinese Evening Newspaper < 新明日报> Journalist who is popularly known as ' 管大妈 ' , as well as fashion & hairstylist David Gan as well as < 超級星光大道 > Resident Judge - 黄韵玲 .
The Singapore Leg of < 超級星光大道 5 PK賽 > promptly kicked off at 3pm to a fully packed crowd at the three Storey high Leisure Park Shopping Mall in Kallang ! Many banners , posters & boards could be distinctively seen from afar among the crowds , each bearing the names & Contestant Number of their Idols , each hoping that they would be the Ones off to Taiwan for the competition proper ! The Hosts for the Event were the two very familiar voices of Radio 1003 FM DJs - Ken & 小猪 .
- The Much Awaited Performance Of The 6 ' Superstars ' & 1 Idol :
Fresh from the Campus Superstar 3 Competition earlier this year , which saw her made it all the way to the Grand final of the Competition , only to lose to eventual Winner Jarod , the CSS 3 Runners Up Rachel Chua Ai Jia 蔡艾珈 was the first to take to the Stage being Contestant Number 1 . She sang Ah Mei （阿妹）张惠妹 Song - 《你是爱我的》 :

The Next Superstar that was to take to the Stage was Contestant Number 3 Campus Superstar 1 winner 黄智阳 Ng Chee Yang who also sang an Ah Mei 阿妹 张惠妹 Song - 《我要快乐》 , which surprisingly did not really go quite well with one of the Judges with the Comments she had given him after he had finished singing .

Concidentially , Geraldine See 史心莹 sang the 阿妹 张惠妹 Song of 《我要快乐》 too ( same song chosen as 黄智阳 Ng Chee Yang ) but unfortunately , she did not perform quite that well to expectations as during the Interview with the Host Ken , she admitted that she was quite nervous and so that could have been the ' reason ' for her otherwise below expectations performance .

Then we have to wait for a while before , the next Superstar - well , in this case an Idol to take to the Stage ! Sylvester Sim of Singapore Idol Fame took to the Stage and put up a rather unique & Special Performance - which very much took the crowds , his supporters , his Fans and all the judges by surprise ! He was the only one who decided not to follow the ' trend ' of singing a Chinese song and instead chose to sing an English Song ! So , he sang George Michael 's Song - Careless Whisper . And as it turned out , his somewhat bold & brave decision not to sing a Mandarin Song not only earned huge loud cheers of applause from his fans and supporters but also successfully earned him a place into the next stage of the Competition later in the day !

The competition atmosphere came to a real high when Project Superstar 2 Runners Up & Female Group Winner Chen Diya 陈迪雅 took to the stage with a huge strong group of supporters behind her , cheering & supporting her ! And indeed she did not disappoint the huge expectations her fans had on her ! She truly wowed the crowd & impressed the Judges & the fans very much with her awesome portrayal of David Tao 陶喆 Song of < 找自己 > .
Among her ' fans ' were three very familiar faces who were also seated in the VIP Seats that were allocated behind where the Judges were seated ! They were YES 933FM popular DJs Zhou Chongqing & Lin Peifen , as well as Project Superstar 2 & popular background vocalist ( for Asian pop/R&B Artistes such as David Tao, JJ Lin Junjie, Amei, Wang Leehom for their world tours ) - Tay Kewei , who was also present for to support 陈迪雅 ! They waved & clapped their hands along with the Song as she sang & performed on Stage !
Chen Diya 陈迪雅 started the song saying that she would like to dedicate this particular Song : David Tao 陶喆< 找自己 > to her fellow 19 other Contestants . As she sang from time to time , she never failed to engage with the audience . The whole performance was so breathtaking & the Judges and the whole crowd at the shopping Mall were very deeply impressed ! By far the Most Memorable Performance so far - a performance that really did leave a very deep impression in my mind , which proved that there were even more better things still to come !

Then to complete the ' Superstars' Performance was Campus Superstars 2 Female Winner & Runners Up Keely Wee 阮诗凯 who proved that there was no generation gap or singing a song has nothing to do with the problem of ' age barrier ' as she surprised the audience & the crowd by singing a Classic Chinese Song < 爱上一个不回的人> . Despite being at such a young age of just 19 Years Old , she portayed the song rather well but was deemed as ' having not enough self experience ' by one of the Judges as she gave her Comments after she had finished singing the Song !
Well ... Though she did not really manage to impress the Judges with her performance , it was a really bold and brave attempt on her part to try something ' new ' and ' unique ' .After all the Top 20 Contestants had finished singing their Songs and giving their all for the first Round of PK Competition which would see only Five out of the Top 20 made it to the next Stage of the PK Competition , there were fifteen minutes of Special Performances put up by the Top 20 Contestants , which would arguably may be their last time having the chance to perform together as a Group with this corhort of 20 Outstanding Singers !

After that , it was the turn of the remaining ten Contestants to take to the Stage for their own Combined Performance , but their combined effort performance was disrupted by a sudden power failure & the Show was halted for some fifteen minutes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKw4Gm1cL_s&feature=related
before the Show resumed with the last Ten Contestants putting up an equally wonderful combined performance with the Song from the very First Season Of < 超級星光大道 > Top 10 Contestants where they subsequently released an Album of the Song .

Then after enjoying their combined performances , more shocks & surprises were in store as one of the Judges announced that instead of choosing 5 to make it to the Second Round of the PK Competition , they had in fact chosen two More Lucky Winners , making it Seven in total for the next Round of Competition !
Due to the high standard level of competition where the Contestants were all very good & impressed the Judges , thus the Rules of the Games were ' tweaked ' and changed at the last minute , making the atmosphere in the competition both on & off the Stage to another high level of Drama & Excitement , following the rather shocked & surprised announcement by the Judge !
So after Round One Of Competition , out of the 7 Superstars , five ' Superstars ' made it to Round 2 of the PK Competition , together with two Other Contestants . So the ' Lucky 7 ' for Round Two of the Competition were : Campus Superstar 1 Overall Champion- 黄智阳 Ng Chee Yang , Campus Superstar 3 Runners Up 蔡艾珈 Rachel Chua Ai Jia , both Project Superstars 2 Best Friends - Chen Diya 陈迪雅 and Carrie Yang 杨佳盈 , Sylvester Sim of Singapore Idol Fame made it to the next Round , together with our Very Own Show Luo Zhi Xiang - Contestant Number 17 Yutaki Ong 王顺达 ( See Report Below ) & Contestant Number 20 Teo Zuo En .

Congratulations To The Seven Lucky Winners of Round One Of The PK Competition !
- They Really Give The ' Superstars ' A Run For Their Money !
Though they may not be exactly in the same leagues as the 7 Superstars , but these 2 Contestants and ( a few others which I will introduce in greater detail in the following few days this week & next Week ) certainly have given a lasting impression with their awesome Performance that u thought the real foreign Stars were in town yesterday !
Popular Taiwanese Singer SHOW Luo Zhi Xiang may have been in town just only very recently for the Com Chest Charity Show performing at Toa Payoh HDB Hub to raise funds for Charity , but fans were treated to ' another glimpse ' of his breathtaking performance ' LIVE ' yesterday at the < 超級星光大道5 新加坡PK賽 > Compeition Arena at the Leisure Park Shopping Mall !
Not really the real man himself though , but just a Contestant who could actually sing & dance really well - almost exactly as the man himself to perfection ! He sang SHOW Luo Zhi Xiang most popular hit song < 精武门 > & together with the slick dance moves of his , really gave a really stunning & breathtaking performance equally as the same standard as the real man himself ! His performance immediately raised the temperatures of the crowd atmosphere to a new high & undoubtedly impressed the Judges as well !

Introducing to U our very own SHOW Luo Zhi Xiang - Contestant Number 17 Yutaki Ong 王顺达 . He certainly had made a very big name for himself in a very big way indeed ! WELL DONE ! Impressive Stuff !
If having a ' SHOW Luo Zhi Xiang ' in the Competition is still not enough , now we even have an ' Andy Lau ' too ! Well , if u were to hear him sing this song with your eyes closed , u would have thought that Andy Lau has really come to town !

He is none other than Contestant Number 16 Alfred Sim Chee Hao , who has a real talent for imitating famous & popular Singers ' Singing to perfection as revealed during a short interview on Stage with Host Ken .
