Before this Voting Contest was organised , Jeanette Aw was widely regarded as the hot favourite for the Best Actress Award in this year's Star Award for her excellent portrayal of both characters Juxiang & Yueniang in the hit TV Blockbuster Drama Serial - 小娘惹 The Little Nyonya . She was so successful in her role in the hit TV Series that many even touted her as an upcoming Ah Jie to be .
Now all these could and may well soon change with this result from the online voting contest coming on the Eve of Star Awards Ceremony ! The tables are likely to be turned & she may be viewed as the ' Dark Horse ' instead - with either fellow Nyonya Nominee Joanne Peh or two Best Actress Award Nominee Chen Liping as the new hot favourite for the Best Actress Award on tomorrow night .
One can't help but feel that this Result from the Voting Contest has indeed come at a really unlikely time for Jeanette Aw ! Some can't help but feels that this Voting Contest ( though done out of sheer fun without any real intent of harm to any Artistes ) organised by the popular online portal omy.sg could , in fact have a very adverse damaging effect for Jeanette Aw ahead of tomorrow all important big night ! More so with the Results announced on the Eve of STAR AWARDS !
With the situation as such , some felt that since Jeanette Aw has already been voted as ' 最烂女主角 ' in this Online Voting Contest , this is as good as killing off her chance to win the 最佳女主角 - Best Actress Award on tomorrow night ! As some feel that one can't be the ' Worst Actress ( 最烂女主角 ) as well as the Best Actress - (最佳女主角 ) at the same time , as this would be a ' little ' too contridicting !
So the ' favourites tag ' may now swing in favour of fellow ' Nyonya ' Nominee - Joanne Peh 白薇秀 , who many feel initally that she should not be in the Best Actress Award Category as her role in the hit TV Series is more of a Supporting Role instead of a Lead Role ! Or either Chen Liping with two Nominations in the Best Actress Award Category ( for 黄金路 The Golden Path & 一房半厅一水缸 Just In Singapore ) may also stand a chance of winning the Best Actress Award . Both have somehow emerged as the ' New ' favourites to win the Best Actress Award ( 最佳女主角 ) instead of early hot favourite - 欧萱 Jeanette Aw ahead of the big night tomorrow on STAR Awards Eve !
