A small ' price ' to pay for being popular ? After seeing her popularity soar to new heights from the huge success achieved from Last Year's End Of Year Blockbuster - The Little Nyonya - 小娘惹 , earning huge praises from both the media and viewers for her excellent portrayal of both characters - Juxiang & Yueniang , it now seems that Jeanette Aw is very likely to land another big role in yet another End Of Year Blockbuster Drama for this year !
There have been widespread speculations from some of the popular Local Forums that one of the three Leading roles for this year's End of Year Blockbuster - has been , and in fact already been " reserved " for Jeanette Aw and that she has been kept well wrapped in cotton wool so as to have her " fresh " and ready for this year's End of Year MEGA Drama Serial !
Besides seeing her gracing the MIPTV Event in Cannes , France recently and seeing her appearing occasionally for advertisements on television & print media , she is currently busy preparing for an upcoming specially created ' The Little Nyonya Musical ' - The Peranakan Ball which will be held next month . Besides this , there has been really nothing much for Jeanette fans to cheer about in terms of new Drama productions for this year !
Indeed , Jeanette Aw fans have been waiting for so long , especially after seeing some of the other Artistes who were involved in ' The Little Nyonya ' - 小娘惹 last year already had new roles & new Dramas for the first half of this year ! On the other hand , Jeanette fans & supporters had not had a chance to see their favourite Idol been cast in any new Drama Serial for this year as yet since ' The Little Nyonya ' - 小娘惹 ended at the beginning of this year till now !
Xiang Yun 向云 , Eelyn Kok 郭蕙雯 , Cynthia Koh 许美珍 , Lin Mei Jiao 林梅娇 , Darren Lim 林明伦 , Apple Hong 洪乙心 who were all involved in the production of the hit Mega Blockbuster last year , all saw them having new Dramas & new productions which are either already been shown or are coming up in the first half of this year !
Xiang Yun , of course , was involved in 煮妇的假期 - ' Housewives Holiday ' where she played a typical housewife which ended it's run not too long ago . Eelyn Kok also had a new Drama as early as in February in the Idol Engineering Drama ' The Dream Catchers ' - 未来不是梦 ' and viewers will also get to see more of her in the Upcoming Drama Serial - ' 书包太重' My School Daze right after Table Of Glory together with other 小娘惹 - The Little Nyonya Artistes such as Cynthia Koh, Lin Mei Jiao, Darren Lim and Apple Hong .
Also , u can catch even more of Cynthia Koh & Lin Mei Jiao together yet again in yet another Blockbuster Drama Serial - The ULTIMATUM coming up in the month of May !
Even Joanne Peh 白薇秀 who has not had any New Dramas to show for the first half of this year , is currently busy filming a 180 Episodes Long Running Drama Serial - 想握你的手 which will be shown in November . She can be also be seen on an upcoming Brand New Variety Show where she will host & interview other Mediacorp Stars in ' The Princesses & The Prince ' ...
Even Dai Yang Tian 戴阳天 who lasted only 8 Episodes in the hit Blockbuster Drama Serial last year , is currently now being seen on TV every weeknights , Mondays to Fridays in Table of Glory - 乒乓圆 ...
Except Jeanette Aw who has not seen any new Dramas involving her yet .... Surely , after gaining success from The Little Nyonya last year , it can't be that she WILL NOT be involved in any new Dramas at all for this year ?
If that's really the case , then she will DEFINITELY can't & won't be in the running at all for Next Year's Star Awards already ! And if that's really the case , then it's doesn't really make much sense too & fans & supporters of Jeanette Aw , especially , will definitely find this very hard to believe !
So far , it is now down to four New Dramas in the Second Half of this Year which are currently in the planning stage & two of which have not had any names or casts being involved in as yet .
One is a 20 Episodes Family Drama Serial tentatively called ' 我的企鹅老爸 ' , the other Drama - of course is The End Of Year Mega Blockbuster Drama Serial !
So if Jeanette were to be involved in any new Dramas at all this year , surely it can't be for the " small scale " production Family Drama Serial - ' 我的企鹅老爸' , so it MUST & Should be for The End Of Year Mega Blockbuster Drama already !
Are the " signs " really already there ? Are the " writings " really already on the wall , as they say ? ... So this leaves many of the TV Viewers to believe that the long " rest " or " break " that Jeanette Aw has been ' given ' at the moment must & surely be for THE Big One yet again this year .... Or is it ?
