After having written the Success Stories of Last Year's End Of Year Mega BLOCKBUSTER - The Little Nyonya - 小娘惹 and seeing the Serial achieved a whopping 24 Nominations in total for this year's Star Awards , the man seemed to have done it again for his next latest work in Table Of Glory - 乒乓圆 !
洪荣狄 - Ang Eng Tee the hero behind the Hit TV Blockbuster Serial last year which saw it became the most watched Drama Serial for the last fifteen years , was also the man behind the works of Just In Singapore - 一房半厅一水缸 & the Mega End Of Year Blockbuster two years ago in The Golden Path - 黄金路 ( 2007 ) as well , which also saw him being in the running for the above mentioned three Drama Serials in this year's Star Awards 2009 for Best Scriptwriter Award !
Now his latest work - Table Of Glory - 乒乓圆 , which is currently being shown on weeknights on Channel 8 , he seemed to have done it again ! After making a slow start which saw the Serial achieved only 740,000 viewers for it's first three Episodes , it made a vast improvement in terms of TV Ratings as it saw a whopping 961,000 viewers watching the Serial on Monday Night ( 13 April 2009 ) alone , with an average of 880,000 viewers ( for 9 Episodes as of Monday - 13 April 2009 ) in the latest viewership figures released on Tuesday - 14 April 2009 , despite the Series of negative reports & comments made by the viewers as seen recently in the Chinese Evening Newspapers !
This shows that the viewers are not easily being put off by those negative reports & comments being made and do have faith & belief in this ' 金牌故事人' 洪荣狄 Ang Eng Tee that the Drama will eventually come good ! They are still enjoying the Serial as the story progresses despite all the bad press the Serial has received ! Now the good comments are slowly coming in in various popular Local Forums ! Netizens even praised that the story is getting better & more interesting and even said that the young Actors & Actresses did well !
Now with the Serial currently going into it's 13 Episode tonight , with just 7 more Episodes to go to the Serial Finale on Tuesday , 28 April 2009 , how will the Serial fare in terms of viewership Ratings ? Will we see the figures soar to another new high record as the Drama reaches it's climax ?
