Star Awards 2007 - 25 Anniversary Dramas Special Edition nominees for ' Best Drama Serial Theme Songs Awards ' as well as ' Screen Sweetheart Awards ' were announced earlier this week on Monday , 8 October 2007 . In the Screen Sweetheart Awards , 25 nominees were announced and out of the lucky shortlisted candidates who made it to the nomination list which comprises of past veterans artistes as well as the most popular and famous artistes of today .
A look at the list of nominees , u will surely have noticed something : Besides Ah Jie Zoe Tay & Fann Wong who are expected to be nominated , all 7 Mediacorp most popular Princesses all successfully made into the list ! All 7 of them - Dawn Yeoh , Felicia Chin , Fiona Xie , Jeanette Aw , Jessica Liu , Joanne Peh and last but not least , Rui En - ' The 7 Princesses ' as they are so popularly known . Besides them , veterans popular artistes in the 80s like Chen Xiu Huan - 陈秀环 and Zhu Le Ling - 朱乐玲 ( u can see her currently appearing on Mystery 1 in the story on Butterfly ) Jazreel Low - 刘琦 and Zeng Hui Feng - 曾慧芬 ( recently seen on TV in Telemovie ' feng die ' with Wu Zheng Yu ) all gets the nod to be in the running of this special Award . The other nominees also included Pan Ling Ling , Yvonne Lim , Phyills Quek , Jacelyn Tay , Ivy Lee etc ...
But what's really surprised me was the omission of some other female artistes like the ' Yang ' sisters - Yang Libing and Yang Lina , sweetie -pie Evelyn Tan , Joey Swee , Le Yao , Cythina Koh , May Phua , Constance Song , Aileen Tan , Huang Biren , Vivian Lai , Florence Tan or even actress turned singer - Zhang Yu Hua who starred together with Ix Shen in the highly popular Drama Serial - ' You Light Up My Life ' 如何对你说 in 2001 her last appearance as an actress before she went to Taiwan to be a professional singer .

maybe if it's to celeb 25 yrs of drama, shd include more actresses of e 'older' times rather than e current ones since there's a separate star awards for them. hmmm...1 of them called li bin rt.
Yes , I fully agree with u . Since it is the Star Awards for the 25 Years of Dramas , more past and veterans artistes should have been given the recognition for their hardwork by being nominated as it is indeed a very rare opportunity for them to be in the running of Star Awards already again ( not to say win them , if ... if not for the special creation of this special Edition Star Awards ! ) Similarly , it is also very rare for us to see them appear on TV again especially for those who were not born yet at that time and couldn't see their shows when they were so famous and popular and were household names at that time then .
Hopefully , we can see more past and veterans artistes mames in the list of Screen Heartthrob Award on Monday when the official list is out . Hope these guys hardwork will be given the recognition that they deserve and not be forgotten !
