They were the biggest winners in last year's《红星大奖》Star Awards and they are back again for this year's Star Awards too ! The Hit TV Blockbuster Drama which was the biggest winner on the night , won a total of five Awards , including a double victory in the Best Supporting Actress Award where both Xiang Yun and Ng Hui were joint winners of the Category ! Also , not forgetting those Awards the Serial had won in a separate Star Awards Ceremony held outdoors , the Serial had indeed won big last year !
And this year , they will be back for more ! Just one more to be exact as ' The Little Nyonya Reunion Special ' -《小娘惹大团圆》is one of the Nominees for the 最佳综艺特备节目 Best Variety Special Award . The One Hour Variety Special which was shown on Primetime ( 7pm ) over Mediacorp Channel 8 during the first Day of Chinese New Year last year had some of the Casts who were all dressed in their respective nyonya costumes as seen in the Drama Serial , sharing with us some of the untold stories in the Making of《小娘惹》The Little Nyonya and a rare peek into the some of the memorable Behind The Scenes moments when filming for the 34 Episodes Blockbuster Drama .
Many felt that although this may be just a one - off one Hour TV Variety Special - which is also a first of it's kind for our local Mediacorp Drama History , it is still too strong to be challenged by rival competitors such as the educational and fun《华文？谁怕谁 ! 总决赛》- The Chinese Challenge Final 2009 , which was organised to promote and improve the standard of Mandarin and the Chinese Language among Singaporeans here ,《真情无障爱》the three Hours Mediacorp Channel 8 SPD TV Charity Show which was entirely held outdoors and shown LIVE from Toa Payoh HDB Hub itself , Campus Superstar Grand Final 2009《校园Superstar 2009 总决赛》One may just feel that not even last year's Star Awards Night《红星大奖2009》will come close to be able to deny The Little Nyonya of yet another shot at possible glory on this year's TV Biggest Awards Night !
With《小娘惹》The Little Nyonya scheduled to make their long anticipated return to our TV Screens two days after this Star Awards Night , this could just be THE type of Good News that the Casts and Crew would like to hear and could possibly hope for , with the high possibility of it coming true , which will present them with a one final chance for them to cheer , for all their hard work put in to making this Series such a huge success both locally and internationally !
