To All 小娘惹 - The Little Nyonya fans : GOOD NEWS For U ! Mediacorp Channel 8 Most Successful Mega hit Blockbuster Drama Serial - The Little Nyonya 小娘惹 is set to make a quick return to our TV Screens ! After achieving the highest TV Ratings for the past 15 Years , this Serial also comes up tops in this Year's Star Awards Nominations , getting 16 Nominations in total !
It also saw it being the first Singapore locally made Serial to be exported to overseas , breaking into many popular international overseas markets such as neighbours Malaysia (currently showing on Malaysia Pay Cable TV - ASTRO Shuang Xing Channel - Mondays to Thursdays at 4.30pm , repeat @ 8.30pm on the same night ! ) , and even had HongKong most popular TV Station - TVB snapping up our Blockbuster Serial !
Now The Nyonya fever is set to hit our local TV audiences once more as the Serial has been scheduled to make a quick return to our TV Screens when the Serial will be shown again on our TV Screens in April next month ! This time , however on Mediacorp Channel 5 !
Yes , arrangements has been made to dub it into English & be shown in English for the benefit of all our non - Chinese speaking audiences so that they too will not be left out of this Nyonya craze !
This means that The Little Nyonya is the Second Chinese Drama Serial on Channel 8 that has been dubbed into English & be shown in English on Channel 5 ! The first Chinese Drama Serial that was being dubbed in English & shown on Channel 5 was way back in 1997 - the historic Japanese Occupation Blockbuster Drama Serial - The Price of Peace - 和平的代价 !
Now The Little Nyonya 小娘惹 with it's huge success is following suit ! Catch The return of The Little Nyonya 小娘惹 on our TV Screens next month in April on Mediacorp Channel 5 !
