From funny man to scary man - that is Adrian Pang for U ! Well , at least in the case of his role in the Latest Mediacorp Channel 5 Blockbuster Drama ' Red Thread ' , where he plays a blind man who is out for revenge to seek back what he has lost !
Adrian Pang has always given people the impression as a very funny & wacky guy where viewers will often get to see him tell & cracks jokes - be it as a host or even when he acts ! Channel 8 viewers will surely remember Adrian Pang 彭耀顺 in his funny & comedy role in Nanny Daddy - 奶爸百分百 where he starred alongside Yvonne Lim . This Serial was tops in TV Ratings for Channel 8 9pm Primetime Drama slots ( that is , before 小娘惹 - The Little Nyonya came along & smash all records ! )
Now this year , viewers will get to see a very rare side of him - ( the side not so commonly seen of him ) : the not so funny side of Adrian Pang where he looks so serious ( that's hard to imagine ) in his role as Alex Sung in Channel 5 40 Episodes Mega Blockbuster Drama Serial ' Red Thread ' !
Besides Adrian Pang starring as the Lead Character of the story , this Mega Blockbuster also boost a stellar star studded power packed Cast which includes : Aileen Tan 陈丽贞 ( in her Second English Language speaking role on Channel 5 - her first Drama Serial on Channel 5 was in ' Growing Up ' back in 2000 / 2001 ) . She also acted in an English sitcom on Channel 5 last year in ' Sayang Sayang ' .
Besides Aileen Tan , viewers will also get to see Celest Chong 张玉华 who is now back on our Local TV Screens yet again after a long absence since 2004 , as well as Julian Hee 许立桦 , Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP) Eunice Olsen , Bernard Tan , Brian Richmond , Tracy Tan , Patrick Goh etc ...
Red Thread Premieres 14 April 2009 - Tuesdays to Thursdays at 8pm on Channel 5 ! A point of note though is that each Episodes will only be half an hour long instead of the usual one hour Drama that is being shown on Channel 8 .
30 mins Drama Serial is nothing new at all , at least especially in the case for Adrian Pang himself . Viewers may remember Adrian starring in a 30 mins Drama Serial on Channel U back in 2003 when Channel U was under SPH Mediaworks where he also starred in a 40 Episodes Family Drama Serial ' 天伦 ' - Together Whenever .
Viewers will remember that the Serial was also half an hour long per Episode being shown on SPH Channel U thrice a week - Wednesdays to Fridays from 8.30pm to 9pm back in 2003 .
