In celebration of Ch 8 Mediacorp 25 years of Drama , Channel 8 is currently filming a Mega Blockbuster Drama Serial ' Path of Gold -黄金路 a 30 Episode Drama Serial featuring many of your favourite and famous actors and actresses in this Mega production . Path of Gold - 黄金路 is a 30-episode blockbuster Drama Serial that is set in the 1980s and spans 25 years to tell the story of a family embroiled in conflicts of interests , webs of deceit , love, hatred and vengeance.
Boosting a stellar star studded cast of Chen Li Ping , Li Nanxing , Tay Ping Hui , Chew Chor Meng , Joanne Peh , Felicia Chin , Huang Wen Yong , Zheng Ge Ping , Tang Yu Shu and Pricella Chan etc ... This highly anticipated Drama Serial is scheduled to broadcast in December this year .
In the Drama Serial , Chew Chor Meng plays Chen Li Ping's son with Li Nanxing and Zheng Ping Hui as his two brothers. Chow Chor Meng's character is a down to earth and is a very good , caring doctor . Things took a change for the worst when he discovered his brother , Ping Hui has done lots of evil things but do not dare to expose his evildoings . He ends up keeping this 'dark secret' all by himself till he eventually suffers from schripzora .
In the Drama Serial , Chew Chor Meng plays Chen Li Ping's son with Li Nanxing and Zheng Ping Hui as his two brothers. Ping Hui who feared Chew Chor Meng may one day report him to the police , kept feeding him medicine excessively , causing his illness to detertorie even further. Chor Meng's character in the Serial does not have much love scenes with female actresses. If any , the closest it came was a scene showing him having a crush on Priscella Chan during his younger days as a student . But , unfortunately , they were not meant to be together as Priscella already had a boyfriend at that time . So, until when he eventually suffers schripzora , he still have the impression and thinks that Priscella is still by his side ... A very sorry and sad character in the show ...*
Also , in the Serial , u can also get to see the soon to be married couple of Tang Yu Shu and Pricella Chan getting married in the show (right till the end part of the Serial ) ! Speaking to the media yesterday , Pricella felt that this arrangement could be partly because they are due to get married in real life ( Oct 6 this year ) , that they have this scene in the show ! This will also be the couple's last Drama Serial before they get married .
Felicia Chin , Li Nanxing and Tay Ping Hui will be involved in a love triangle in ' Path of Gold Drama ' Serial . This will be Felicia's second time acting together with Li Nanxing , their first together was last year's ' A Million Treasure ' and second consecutively time that she and Ping Hui are paired up to act as a couple after the soon to aired Drama Serial - ' For Passion & Honour ' .
In this Drama Serial , Ping Hui will play as a villian who does lots of evil things in order to win the heart of the girl he loves , including harming his own brother ( Chew Chor Meng ) ! When asked of what he thinks of having worked with some of the 'Seven Princesses' ( Felicia Chin , Joanne Peh , Ou Xuan ) he commented that they are a group of people who are really serious and did their homework very well before coming for the shoot. It's really important that they really did do that considering that they are still 'new' and still have so much to learn ' .
Chew Chor Meng , speaking to the Media revealed that in his 17 years as an actor , this is his first time having to portray a mentally unsound character , which he sees as a challenge. It's not really a breakthrough , he says but he will still try his best to portray this character well . He hopes this character can let him and his viewers see an improvement in him and he feels he is up to the task .
On him acting as Nanxing's brother , he says that he does not feel being disadvantaged in any way , considering he is much younger than the latter in real life . He joked saying that it's the same as with Chen Li Ping having to act as his son when she is just a little older than himself .

Felicia Chin plays a rich lady who comes from a rich family in this Series . But sadly , life is not to be a bed of roses for her as it should be as heaven plays a cruel sport on her when she eventually suffers from a terminally ill disease who has very few months to live . After learning of the sad truth , she becames very sad and desponent , feeling meaningless in life . In her remaining days , she became a changed person , living a life completely different from before . In her bid to numb herself to forget about her sad life , she frequents night clubs and pubs ....
Speaking to the media yesterday , she said that she is not a person who will visit night clubs or pubs . The number of times she has gone to such places can be counted by the numbers of fingers in one hand . The last time she has been to such places was last year when she was with her group of friends celebrating the new year . And ... she was only there for ten minutes before she left the place !
She says that she dislikes the smell of cigrattes and she does not drink ( beer , that is ) in real life ! So , that explains why she seldom go to pubs and night clubs !
But , due to her having to film this role , she has no choice but to visit night clubs to observe how those girls dress and behave . Once , she even has an Causcian asking her for a drink , she revealed .
Filming for this role is really a challenge as in one scene , she has to dress quite sexily and pretend to be a prostitute in order to make Li Nanxing appear ... And for this scene alone , she went to the pubs in Geylang to see how those 'professionals' do it !
