For the first time ever on the very last day of the year , viewers at home will have not one but two Countdown Shows to watch on TV ! Both will be shown LIVE & almost at the same time too !

Mediacorp Channel 5 Countdown this year will be held at Marina Bay , which means Singaporeans will get to enjoy & witness a first ever Countdown Party being held on the floating platform itself ! Having played hosts to two NDP Parades already , it will be the very first time that a Year End Countdown Party has been chosen to be organised there !
Channel 5 viewers at home will get to watch the Event LIVE at home from Marina Bay as the nation ushers in the New Year with your favourite Mediacorp Artistes & Superstar Idols !
Performing Artistes and Special Guests includes : Hosts Gurmit Singh , Michelle Chia , Utt & Andrea Fonseka ,together with Singapore Idols Superstars - Taufik Batisah , Hady Mirza , Adrian Pang , Jade Seah , SuperBand 2 Winner " Rabbits ' etc ....
As it reaches the stroke of Midnight , breathtaking display of fireworks will be on display as the nation countdown to usher in the New Year 2009 !
