With no Star Awards 2008 to be held this year , the Asian Television Awards 2008 is the one and only opportunity for some of the Mediacorp Stars to have any chance at winning any major Awards for their acting career within this year ! The Asian Television Awards is the other biggest Awards given out in the Television Entertainment industry ( the only difference is that we will be competing with the other best works and Artistes in the region ) besides the popular and famous Star Awards .
But with already two weeks gone since the Asian Television Awards Ceremony Night , and with barely a week to go before we are to enter the New Year 2009 , there has still been no sign of the Asian Television Awards at all as to when it will ( or will not ) be shown on Mediacorp Channel 5 ! No trailers , advertisements or commericals have been shown as yet since the Awards Ceremony ended some two weeks ago on 11 December 2008 .
Like all previous years , Mediacorp Channel 5 will show the Asian Television Awards shortly after the actual Awards night either within the week itself or one week later after the Awards have been given out . But with just a week to go to the End of Year 2008 , there has still been no News at all whatsoever as to whether local viewers will get to watch this year's Asian Television Awards on TV !
So , one wonders if that would mean that the local viewers will not get to witness , enjoy and watch the excitement , honour & Drama of their favourite Artistes & Idols finest hour of going up on stage to receive the Awards this year ?
This would mean viewers will probably miss the chance to see Quan Yifeng winning the Best Presenters Award as well as seeing some of our Mediacorp Artistes making an appearance at the Awards Ceremony as nominees of the biggest prize . The Nominees include : Bryan Wong , Jeanette Aw , Guo Liang etc ...
Also , viewers will also not get to witness Mediacorp TV for winning the Terrestial Broadcaster of The Year Award !
So just when will Mediacorp Channel 5 be showing the Asian Television Awards 2008 ? Or will they not be showing it at all this year ?
