In view of the postponement of the English Segment of the NDP Rally 2008 to tonight , which was originally scheduled for LIVE telecast last night , Mediacorp has made some changes to some of the original TV Programmes scheduled for telecast on both Mediacorp Mandarin Channels - Channel 8 and Channel U tonight ! The English NDP Rally would be shown stimutaneously across on all Mediacorp Channels from 8pm to 10pm .
For the record , this is the first time in the NDP Rally history that the Speech LIVE Telecast had to be postponed . PM Lee himself made the decision on Saturday and announced that the English Segment of the Rally would not be telecast LIVE last night and instead , it would be broadcast to the public only tonight at 8pm onwards on all Mediacorp TV Stations and Radio 938 LIVE , so as to allow the whole nation to witness and focus their attention on our women paddlers in Action in the Table Tennis Team Event Gold Medal Final Match , which was shown LIVE on three Channels last night - Mediacorp Channel 5 & Channel U and Starhub Cable Olympics Channel 605 .
As such , one of those programmes to be affected by the changes made to tonight's TV Schedules was popular Blockbuster Channel 8 Primetime 9pm Drama Serial - The Defining Moment starring Fann Wong as well as many other big names such as Xiangyun , Zhu Houren and Jeanette Aw . Tonight's Episode would therefore be pre-tempted till tomorrow .
As for viewers of Channel U programmes , the LIVE Telecast of SuperBand 2 would still proceed tonight . The competition will still take place tonight but at an earlier time-slot at 7pm to 8pm . The Results Show would still be shown at the same time at 11.30pm tonight .

With the latest announcement that the English Version of the NDP Rally will be postponed till tomorrow night at the same time of 8pm , it is expected that some of the shows on Mediacorp's Channels - especially for Channel 8 & Channel U will be affected in one way or another and viewers may expect changes to the timings be made to it's usual programmes come tomorrow .

With the English NDP being postponed to tomorrow , and that the English Version of the Rally may be shown LIVE on Channel 8 & Channel U - The shows on it's two Mandarin Channels : Channel 8 & Channel U on it's usual time- slots on Monday (tomorrow night) may be affected . This includes : Star Chef 2 (8pm) & Drama Serial - The Defining Moment (9pm) on Channel 8 & SuperBand LIVE Telecast at 8pm on Channel U . The news on Channel U (9pm) though may be affected , will be expected to be pushed back when the Rally ends .

Huang Biren Shocks Fans & Viewers With Decision To Quit Mediacorp !

Huang Biren may have made up her mind to quit Mediacorp , but u can still catch her on television in a soon to be re-run Drama Serial later this month ! The veteran Actress who has been with Mediacorp for exactly 20 years , made the shock decision to quit her acting career to be a full time mother taking care of her young 5 months old daughter , in a recent interview with The New Paper yesterday - 8 August 2008 .
Since joining SBC back in 1988 , she has not only acted in many Drama Serials , but also saw her hosting many variety shows as well .
Of all the Drama Serials that she has acted in , her role as Wen Yu (文玉) in the Family Drama Serial produced in 1998 - Stand By Me 家人有约 was her first major breakthrough role which was also a turning point in her acting career . In the Serial , she played Xie Shouguang's wife who stood by her husband who was a very promising doctor before the latter met with an unfortunate accident and was then reduced to being a wheelchair . She played a caring wife who stood by him through the difficult times and helped him to overcome the odds .
This role and the Serial itself is still a hit with many local Drama Serial viewers over these years . It was also her role in this Serial that saw her won the Best Actress Award in the Star Awards that year as well as a Best Actress nominee in the Asian Television Award that same year .
This role also saw her won the Best On Screen Couple Award as well as the 'My Favourite Actress Award in last year's Mediacorp's 25 Years of Drama Star Awards Special Edition .
Another Drama Serial which has remained a hit with the audience till now will soon be re-run on Mediacorp Channel 8 later this month ! Her breaththrough role in Mediacorp's 2004 produced Drama Serial - An Ode To Life 三十风雨路 will be returning to our TV screens yet again , beginning Tuesday , 26 August 2008 onwards - every Monday to Friday at 5.30pm on Channel 8 , right after Mediacorp's 2001 produced Blockbuster Serial - The Hotel 大酒店 currently showing at that time-slot .
