After getting to know the Top 24 Superstars for the new Season this year , the first official knock-out round will begin tomorrow ! Half of the Top 24 - 6 guys and 6 girls will begin their long Superstar journey as they do battle in the 1st Quarterfinal Round this weekend !

Tomorrow , u will witness the first half of the Top 24 contestants as they showcase their talents on stage and on Sunday night , it will be the men's turn to take to the stage . The competition will be divided into two parts . They will have to first sing in a Duet , before singing solo in the second part .

Also , for this new Season , as u began to follow their long Superstar journey from tomorrow night onwards , as viewers in Malaysia are busy making phone calls and sending SMS to show their support for their favourite idols on stage in the competition , u too , viewers in Singapore will have a chance to show your love and support for your favourite idols too !

Yes , that's right ! Likewise , u too can also cast your vote and make yourself heard and share your comments with all of us here ! Although your vote will NOT be able to change the fate and outcome of the Results being announced later in the Result Show , at least , u will not be left out in all the fun , only can watch , but can't vote !

4 Superstars will see their long Superstar journey being cut short and have their dreams ended prematurely during the Result Show when they will know if they will be the unlucky ones ( 2 guys & 2 girls ) who will be eliminated .

Latest ! Channel U's Project Superstar 3 To Be Held In Late 2009 !

Fans of Project Superstar , u have to wait for one more year to see your favourite singing competition back on our TV screens again ! And it is going to be a long waiting game , I can assure u , as far as latest info is concerned !

* Latest ! Project Superstar 3 will be held in late 2009 and the key word here is late one feels that it may really be very ' late ' ( how late ? U wonder ? ) , considering when Campus Superstar 3 is due to be held !

Campus Superstar 3 , if u have read from my previous post earlier , will begin from this December onwards , so from the Auditions in December to the competition proper which starts in January , it may stretch till late March 2009 or early April ?

So , the earliest Auditions for Project Superstar may start is in June and with usually one or two months break in between after the Auditions ends , Project Superstar 3 may only officially hit our TV screens at the earliest in September 2009 !

So , in the meantime , if u are hungry and really craving for some proper Project Superstar fever and excitement this year , the next best choice is to watch Malaysia's Project Superstar 3 on 8TV Channel , happening every weekends at 8.30pm !

Latest ! New Campus Superstar Season To Kick Off In December !

After the success of the last two Seasons competition , and uncovering , or rather discovering great singing gems like Shawn , Keely , Teresa Tseng and Huang Zhiyang etc ... among our school campuses , this highly popular singing competition will be back yet again for another Season this year !

U may have read about my previous post on my Blog here regarding the Auditions and all ... Well , here's the latest updates , and I can tell u it's very much confirmed ! Campus Superstar fever will only start in December onwards with the Auditions to be held during the one month December school holidays and the competition proper , unlike the previous Seasons where there is a one month to two months breaks before it actually starts , will this time round for this Season starts straightaway !

The Auditions will start end of this year in December 2008 and the competition proper will be shown LIVE on Channel U like all previous Seasons on Mondays , starting January 2009 onwards , shortly after the Auditions ends in December !

So get set for a Campus Superstar fever to rock your school holidays this December ! A continuous Campus Superstar frenzy coming your way beginning end of this year ! So , for all Secondary School , JC & ITE students who likes to sing and dream of being a star , it's definitely going to be a very happening school holiday this December for u ! So , keep those fingers of yours crossed for more details coming your way !

Ah Long PTE LTD Second In CNY Movie Showdown !

With three great Chinese Blockbuster Movie challenging for the top honour in this year's Chinese New Year period , the battle for the top prize is expected to be the fiercest in recent years ! Stephen Chow's CJ 7 , Jack Neo's Ah Long PTE LTD and Jay Chow's Basketball Movie , Kung Fu Slam Dunk is currently in neck and neck , challenging each other very closely in a three horse race !

And after the first week of intense showdown , the latest figures revealed showed that Stephen Chow is king as his CJ7 movie comes up tops with a whopping $2 million box office earnings . Following closely in second place is Jack Neo Ah Long Pte Ltd with $1.47 million and in third is surprise ... surprise Jay Chow's Kung Fu Slam Dunk Movie , who lost by slightly a bit at $1.4 million reports MY PAPER in yesterday's Edition .

Jack Neo Sliences His Critics !

Despite being on the receiving end of some nasty comments and earning bad reviews from some Movie Reviewers recently , Jack Neo has once again proved that he still has what it takes to stand a foothold in the Movie industry , as far as local audiences are concerned . The massive earnings of $1.47 million just from the opening first week alone says it all . As far as his Movie is concerned , Jack still has a large number of followers and supporters who will still patronize the cinemas and are not easily put off just because of some bad comments .

Considering that there were reports earlier that a particular Movie reviewer had said that his Movie only deserved half a star ratings and some had even written off his Movie as ' Lousy ' , this is indeed a morale boost for Jack , given the circumstances it has been .

On what he has to say and what he feels about being able to defeat what some may consider as one of his strongest and closest ' rivals ' Jay Chow to claim second spot , ' this shows that Singapore is still my home ground ' , Jack was quoted as saying in a phone interview with MY PAPER yesterday .

He felt that Jay Chow's film targets the teenage audience which could be smaller than the family crowds who turned out in force over the holidays . And he has strong words for his critics too and gave them a stern warning : ' When I made a film , I insist on quality . My movies are not rubbish . I made them with a conscience . '

' I think my detractors are very disappointed . ' - Jack Neo on his critics who had written off his movie as lousy after earning the second place spot in the latest box- office figures announced .

S POP CNY Mini Concert - Daren's Special Performance !

After the Superstars Idols had finished singing the Top 6 Semifinal Songs from the S POP Songwriting competition , it was time to bring on the Special Performing Guest of the day's Concert - Project Superstar 2 Winner Daren Tan . Daren dressed in a black S POP T Shirt , like the rest of the performers and the hosts appeared on stage to a rupturous loud applause and cheers from the audiences .

Daren said in a short interview with Cui Fang that he has not been feeling very well and his throat is currently giving him problems . He said that he fell ill when he is having a break . He felt fine when he is the most busy . After the short interview , he proceeded to sing the first song of the day - Channel 8 Blockbuster Drama Serial - Metamorphosis Theme Song Dou Shen .

But there was yet another surprise in store for us . This time , he is not going to sing it alone . He actually invited his good friend and buddy from the same Project Superstar 2 batch as him - Kelvin Soon Wen Hai to sing with him ! This song will be performed in a special manner - A Duet !

As Daren's throat can be seen as giving him problems , the pair did not actually have very good communication with each other and although there was a little bit of flaws here and there , it was a good performance by the pair nevertheless .

Next , he continued to sing two more songs from his Album - Regardless . As his throat was not feeling well , he had to keep drinking water everytime he had finished singing one song .

After his performance , the rest of the other performers were again called to the stage for a special phototaking session by the fans ! The fans with cameras in their hands were having much fun and enjoying snapping photos of their favourite idols on stage as the group posed nicely for them to take pictures for 5 mins .

With that , the S POP Mini Concert - CNY Special ended .

Special Performances & Surprises Galore In S POP CNY Concert !

After that , the crowd left the place and quickly rushed down to Level 1 to get the best seat and best view for the much anticipated S POP Mini Concert that was to follow very shortly , which will feature the Superstars singing the S POP Songwriting Competition Top 6 Songs that made it to the Semifinal stage of the competition and as well as special performances too by Daren Tan who will be singing some songs from his newly released Album - Regardless .

After waiting for some time , the S POP Mini Concert commenced . Superhost Winner Lin Cui Fang was the emcee for the Event . In line with the Chinese New Year Festive Atmosphere , she started off with some Chinese New Year auspicious Greetings and getting some audiences to participate in the Auspicious Greetings Mini Contest Segment , and those who could say auspicious CNY greetings could win themselves a S POP Red Packet each or Goodies Bag from HOYU .

Then after all the fun , the Concert finally kicked off , and Campus Superstar Season 1 Female Winner Teresa Tseng was the first to make the appearance on stage . She sang Dione Tan's composed song of yu san very well and many people were deeply mesmerized by her singing .

Then subsequently , the respective Superstars came out accordingly to sing their respective songs until when it was time for Candyce & Zhang Lesheng to make their appearance that we were in for a surprise !

As Lesheng was not feeling well yesterday , he was not able to attend the Event and sing the Duet with Candyce . So , a special arrangement was made for this item ! And it was indeed very special too ! Teresa Tseng was arranged to sing a Duet with Candyce for the song !

This was also the first time that Teresa was singing this song and the host , Lin Cui Fang did a short interview with the both of them . It was then revealed by Candyce herself that this arrangement was chosen by Candyce herself ! She has in fact , according to her in the interview , asked Teresa to stand in for Lesheng and do a Duet with her . And Teresa duly agreed !

Cui Fang , then interviewed Teresa whether she is familiar with the lyrics of this ' new ' song ' and whether she would be comfortable singing it . She said she is quite ok and she will try her best . And tried her best she did as the pair put up a very good performance to perfection without any flaws at all !

Other than this special arrangement , others went accordingly as expected and from time to time , Special Editions of the S POP Red Hongbaos were given out to the audiences as well as HOYU Goodies Bags !

Happening Sunday Afternoon @ S POP Event in Hougang Mall !

It was indeed a very happening S POP Event held at Hougang Mall yesterday afternoon and it was also certainly a day for everyone to remember too , just three days to go before the arrival of Chinese New Year's Eve !

There were S POP Special Edition Goodies up for grabs - which includes S POP T - Shirt , S POP Figurines and Special Edition Hongbaos for the first 100 lucky readers of this week's I Weekly Magazine to exchange for , as well as a star studded Concert to enjoy after getting the S POP special memorabila .

Many people were very eager to get their hands on the Special Edition S POP Goodies that many people were already seen queuing up at Level 5 of the Hougang Mall shopping centre where a booth has been set up for readers who had bought along the S POP exchange cut - out coupons found in this week's CNY Special two weeks double cover bumper issue of the I weekly Magazine ! Many in the queue in fact brought along the whole magazine instead as they can spending time reading it , while waiting for the S POP Memorabila Exchange to start .

At about 1.50pm , the S POP Exchange started and the people in the long queue lined up very orderly and waited very patiently for their turn to get their hands on the special Edition items . Some got the S POP Figurines and Hongbaos , while others got the Black S POP T - Shirt with the S POp Hongbaos indeed .

Regardless of what they had received in exchange , all left the place feeling very happy .

Millionstar Singing Competition Comes To Singapore !

The Second Season of the popular singing competition from Taiwan - 超級星光大道 or Millionstar , as it is known in English , has only just ended it's run not long ago . Now , the producers of the competition is striking it while it's hot and has began their search for potential contestants for it's upcoming New Season .

The Good News is : For the third Season , the production crew and producers will be coming here to Singapore ! They will be flying here all the way from Taiwan in search of new singing talents for the upcoming third Season ! That means that with Channel U not likely to have any Project Superstar Competition this year , those interested in singing and dreaming of making it big in this Arena .... Your chance to realise your dream is here , for here's your chance to have a shot at this popular singing competition . And if u are really good enough , u could even possibily make it big and be famous in Taiwan !

The Audition for the third Season of Millionstar is to be held over the weekend of 16 February 2008 ( Saturday ) and 17 February 2008 ( Sunday ) at Front Plaza , Level 1 Plaza Singapura , 68 Orchard Road #03-10B Plaza Singapura . The Auditions for both days starts at 12pm .

Registration for the Third Season is already currently ongoing . It's starts from now till Saturday , 16 February 2008 .
