Chen Mei Xin Autograph Session Day 2

Pop Star Media upcoming new rising local talented singer Chen Mei Xin was at AMK Hub last week for two consecutive days to perform and sign autographs for her fans ! And for the two days Event held last week , it attracted a large turnout for both her Autograph Sessions !

The first day of her Autograph session was on Friday , 28 December 2007 , organised by SPH Chinese Entertainment Magazine YOU Weekly , where some 300 free copies of 2008 Calenders are to be given out . All readers have to do is to turn up for the Autograph Session with the cut - out coupon published in the YOU WEEKLY Magazine ( Page 90 ) in exchange for one of the 300 Chen Mei Xin Special Edition 2008 Calenders .

As for those who missed the first Autograph Session , they were given a second bite at the cherry as the next day , 29 December 2007 , there was yet another Chen Mei Xin Autograph Session , except that this time , it was organised by the Chinese Evening Newspaper - Shin Min Daily Newspaper , where 500 free copies of the 2008 Calenders are to be given away to her fans . All interested to get a copy of the Calenders had to bring along their cut - out coupon published in 28 Dec ( Friday's) Edition of the Shin Min Daily Newspaper in exchange for this Calender featuring the pretty and talented singer herself !

There were a long queue in front of the small booth even before the exchange for the 2008 Calenders began which will only commence at 6pm - the same time as Chen Mei Xin was due to make her appearance on stage for the Autograph Session as fans were very eager to get their hands on the 2008 Calenders !

Soon at 6pm , at the introduction from the host - Wang Lei ( a famous Hokkien local singer ) , Chen Mei Xin appeared on stage in a beautiful white dress , singing two songs in total . The first song was the hit song -"瞬间" from her solo Album - which was written for her by Lee Wei Song . The second song was a relatively new song entitled ' ku dan de ren zhong shi suo wu suo wei ' . Although it is relatively a new song , she could carry the song very well indeed ! A very nice pleasant song to hear !

Also , there were FREE posters of Chen Mei Xin to be given away as well too on that day ! But in order to get your hands on the large poster , one has to purchase a copy of her Album "瞬间" VCD which was sold at $10 , as for every purchase of her "瞬间" VCD , u will get a limited Edition large poster of the singer herself , plus a copy of the 2008 Calenders too !

At one stage , there was even a Special Offer where for every purchase of her "瞬间" VCDs , a special Edition recycling bag ( available in two colours - green or blue ) were given free along with the 2008 Calenders and the big posters as mentioned above . Also on sale that day were also a Chen Mei Xin Special Edition EZ-Link card which cost $20 .

After she had finished singing the two songs , the Autograph Signing Session began very shortly . Fans queued up and went on stage one by one in a very orderly manner for her to sign her Autograph on the FREE Calenders , posters as well as the "瞬间" VCD Album . Some fans even get to pose a picture together with her !

The whole Event lasted for an hour and all her fans went home very happy , having gotten their favourite idols Autographs on their own collectables ! Everyone went home happy !

Shades of Familarility In The Golden Path Drama Serial ...

Mega Year End Blockbuster Drama serial - The Golden Path- 黄金路 is produced as part of Mediacorp Channel 8 celebrations of it's 25 Years of Drama Anniversary , so it's not really surprising that viewers can get to see some familiar scenes from past classic Drama Serials such as The Seletar Robbery , The Flying Fish , Pretty Faces , Turn of The Tides , Finishing Lines , The Last Applause , Stepping Out and Holland V .

Besides the expected familiar scenes from past classic Drama Serials , viewers were very much surprised to see some familiar roles from past classic Drama Serials ' making an appearance ' in the Serial too !

For example , Li Nanxing ’s Jinlong , bad tempered gangster like character resembles very much the role which he acted in the Drama Serial The Vagrant - 豹子胆 in 2002 .

Tay Ping Hui who will later become a cop resembles the role , which he portrayed in the Drama Serial - CID - 刑警2人组 , which he was also a police officer in that Drama Serial .

Carole Lin's fierce character resembles the role which she portrayed in Wok of Life - 福满人间

Also , the Ah Jin who committed the Robbery in 1982 in this Golden Path Serial , somehow reminds me of the Drama Serial which was produced in that same year - Seletar Robbery - 实里达大劫案 .

Chen Liping's role as a mother here who has to take care of a big family somehow resembles that of her role as Mo Wan Wan in the 2003 Blockbuster Serial Holland V - 荷兰村 .

Also , Alan Tern's character - De Jian here also resembles the role he portrayed in the 2005 Blockbuster Drama Serial Potrait of Home - 同心圆 when he was trying to woo Mei Ren Yu ( Felicia Chin ) and sowing discord between Felicia and Pierre Png in that 2005 Blockbuster Drama Serial ! The same look , the same expressions can be seen once again as he tried to woo Simin ( Priscella Chan ) and preventing Kaida ( Chow Chor Meng ) from getting close to her .

With all these similarities and resemblance of storylines , roles and characters , The Golden Path is truly a Drama Serial very fitting for their 25 Years of Drama Anniversary !

Well Done , Mediacorp for incorporating past Characters and Roles in the storyline !

With that said , I was hoping to see if Jinlong will gamble till one day he visits the casino , then we can see Li Nanxing perform his ‘ magic ‘ on the poker cards once again , just like he did in The Unbeatables Series ! Maybe a possibility too ? Who knows ?

Mega Blockbuster Drama Serial - The Beginning Returns To Channel 8 !

Have a great beginning to the new year 2008 with Felicia Chin , Shaun Chen , Lin Yu Zhong and Stella Chung - the cast of 原点 - The Beginning as the hugely popular Mega Blockbuster Drama Serial is back on our TV Screens once again , starting today onwards !

The first ever co-production Drama Serial between Singapore's Mediacorp TV and Malaysia's ntv 7 Channel , Yuan Dian - The Beginning was such a instant hit that it tops the TV ratings in Malaysia when it was first shown there two years ago in October ! Similarily , when it was shown here in Singapore during May last year , it was as popular among viewers here too that it also managed to attract a whopping 400, 000 plus viewers every week to watch the Serial with 450 000 viewers watching it's last Episode on 18 June last year !

Channel U Joins In 25 Years of Drama Celebrations !

After having released two Theme Songs Albums , a special Edition Star Awards Ceremony , published a Special Edition commerative Book and the constant re-running of past Drama Serials on Channel 8 as part of their 25 Years of Drama celebrations , it seemed that it is still not enough and now , even Channel U has been ' asked ' to join in the Celebrations too ! Now the Celebrations is REALLY in full swing !

That's right ! In case u have not noticed or realized , since mid December last year , Channel U has also began to show re-runs of past Mediacorp produced Drama Serials of the recent years too ! First , it was The Champion 任我遨游 - a swimming related storyline which starred 4 of the 7 Princesses - Felicia Chin , Fiona Xie , Jeanette Aw and Jessica Liu , as well as Toro , Qi Yu Wu and Julian Hee .

Now currently on Channel U is a 2001 Classic Drama Serial - 如何对你说 You Light Up My Life starring Ix Shen and Celest Chong - Zhang Yu Hua . This also happens to be Celest's last appearance in our local Drama scene as after this production , she decided to quit acting and venture to Taiwan to pursuit her dream of being a singer .

This Drama Serial is quite similar to last year's production of The Greatest Love of All - 爱·特别的你 where if u remember , Joanne Peh and Zhang Yaodong played the role of social workers helping those in need in their personal life . Here in this 2001 production , instead we have Celest and Ix Shen playing this role instead .

As a social worker , the pair will get to tackle many difficult cases from different walks of life of people , ranging from the very young to the elderly group as they meet the challenges in life .

Celest and Ix Shen looks a very compatable pair in this Serial on screen and especially Celest really done a very good job in potraying her role as a social worker to perfection . She brings out the helpfulness , the willingless to lend a helping hand whenever possible , the caring heart to feel for the needy people that a true social worker should have - the qualities of a good social worker extremely well indeed ! This role as a social worker really suits her indeed !

This was also the main reason why she quickly rose to fame and was so popular when this Drama was aired back in 2001 ( 14 February 2001 to 20 March 2001 ) then . Her role as a caring and helpful social worker was well liked and well received by many viewers !

To be shown after The Golden Path ends it's run at the 9pm timeslot , this Drama Serial is about food and Chen Hanwei role is very challenging . This is actually a remake from a 2005 Mediacorp produced Drama Serial - 情来运转 My Lucky Charm which starred Huang Biren , Chew Chor Meng , Chen Hanwei , Allan Wu , Michelle Chong , Cavin Soh and 2 of the 7 Princesses Jeanette Aw and Jessica Liu .

This 25 Episode Drama Serial was broadcasted from 6 January 2005 to 11 February 2005 .

Now exactly three years later , this Drama Serial is returning to our TV screens again this time as The Beautiful Scent .

陆小凤传奇 - Lu Xiao Feng starring popular Hongkong Actor Julian Cheng & Mediacorp popular Ah Jie Fann Wong . Ironically , Fann Wong's boyfriend Christopher Lee also acted in Lu Xiao Feng 陆小凤之决战前后 , 8 years ago which was shown only on Fridays at 8pm on Channel 8 from 3 Nov 2000 to 5 January 2001, - only to end in a terrible flop which saw the show yanked off from it's Primetime slot of 8pm on Fridays and to be scheduled on a weekend 2.30pm timing !

It's Sequel - 陆小凤 II之凤舞九天 never saw the light of day only to be shown just last year or two years ago - few years after when it was originally scheduled to be shown immediately right after the first part ended . Funny enough , now it's Fann's turn to star in Lu Xiao Feng , will it end in disaster yet again ? Hopefully , history would not repeat itself !
