Asian Idol 2007 : Idol Mania Set To Take Asia By Storm !

The biggest and largest Idol competition is set to take Asia by storm this Summer ! Asian Idol 2007 is an upcoming version of the singing competition format , Pop Idol . Featuring winners of Idol competitions from 6 Asian countries consisting of Malaysia , Indonesia , India , Vietnam , Philippines and Singapore , it is one big Idol competition that u won't want to miss this year !

It is set to be held on mid-December 2007 in Jakarta, Indonesia . RCTI the largest TV station in Indonesia , which also hosts Indonesia Idol will be the main TV station with the competition also being broadcast live in the participating countries. The voting procedure for Asian Idol, will allow performers to receive votes from their respective countries. Each participating country will have its own system of determining its representative.

As a kickoff to Asian Idol , all six contestants will be introduced through an Idol Showcase presentation on December 8, 2007. Meanwhile, fans of each contestant will be able to choose the song they want their Idol to perform before the Asian Idol performance show. The Idols will perform two songs each : One in English and another in their native language . Every competing country will send a judge to comment on the contestants' performances.

The production of Asian Idol will be put up with the help of the people behind Australian Idol . Unlike World Idol which was a one-off affair, Asian Idol competition is said to run for five weeks with one Idol being eliminated every week ! In addition to the coverage of Asian Idol , RCTI will run a series called "Asian Idol Extra" between late November to mid-December 2007 .

Sneak Preview of Asian Idol 2007 Finalists !

Asian Idol 2007 will be held somewhere in the month of November this year. Indonesia's largest TV station, RCTI will be the main TV station ! The competition will also be broadcast live in the competing countries. There will be 7 countries competing - Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, The Philippines, Vietnam, India and Kazakhstan. Each countries will be represented by the winner from the choice season.
Every competing countries will send a judge only to comment on the contestants' performances. Viewers in the competing countries will cast their votes via SMS to determine who stays & who goes.

New Season Malaysia Project Superstar Auditions Coming Soon !

Next year , most likely we may not get to see our very own Project Superstar happening on Channel U , if reports of the new Season happening only in Year 2009 is to be believed , but if u are hungry for some Project Superstar action next year , look no further than to tune in to 8TV ! For the Malaysian Channel will be starting Auditions for the new Season of the popular singing competition very soon in a few weeks time ! And that means we will get to see the competition proper the earliest by next year's Feb or March on 8TV Channel !

The first round of Auditions is set to take place on 17 & 18 November 2007 and ends in mid December 2007 ! More details coming up soon to be updated accordingly very soon ! For those interested and those that fit the criteria , watch this space for more details !

Barter Trade @ Bishan Junction 8 Tomorrow !

The festive Seasons is just round the corner ! Deepavali is coming this Thursday and Christmas is just a month away , so guess all of u must be busy cleaning and tidying up your house ! Have anything that u don't want at home and thinking of throwing it away but still in good working condition and it's still useable ? If u are thinking of throwing it away , why not barter trade those items with Mark Lee and Cavin Soh tomorrow at Junction 8 , and who knows u may get the chance to win yourself a brand new household item all for free without buying it or even needing to pay a single cent for it !

Well , all these is part of Mediacorp Channel 8 up and coming new Season variety game show ' Barter Trade 2 ' - wu wu da jiao huan 2 hosted by funny comedian Mark Lee and Cavin Soh ! All u have to do in order to participate in this variety game show is to bring along any item at home which u are thinking of throwing it away but it's still in good working condition to Junction 8 Top of The 8 Level 3 tomorrow and barter trade them with the hosts and u may just be the lucky winner of the great big prizes !

The game show consists of three rounds ! First , bring an item along which u want to barter trade . The item which u intend to barter trade with does not necessary have to be very expensive or very big in size ! Anything at all which u can think of but it MUST be in good condition , that is , still can be used by others ! 2) Then u will have to register yourself and after which u will be asked to say the reason for u intending to barter trade the item that u bring along and say a short story regarding the item !

The catch here is that : The short story must be interesting and of good entertainment value ! Your story does not necessary have to be real ! As long as it's interesting and creative and has great entertainment value , u fit the criteria ! The host will then choose five contestants to progress to spin the wheel round which will determine what great prizes u got in exchange which include a standing fan , a vaccum cleaner , and the great grand prize - 42 inch LCD TV set ( that was the case this morning at AMK Hub Level 3 ) ! It's that simple !
